Guide » Credit Cards

Think carefully before using your card too often

More and more businesses link up with banks, to form joint venture credit cards. Premier League Football clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool FC have teamed with MBNA Europe Bank to create a credit card whose purchase enables the holder to contribute to the development of the team.
Other sport related businesses  rewards and bonuses. Manchester United FC provides a credit card with a monthly prize draw, in which signed football memorabilia and team merchandise may be won.
Other credit card providers, such as charities like ‘Help the Aged’ and ‘Amnesty International’ donate a percentage of the money spent to charity.
But by far one of the most popular benefits offered by card providers like NatWest is the AirMiles system, in which air miles can be earned by a points scheme. Points are collected and then exchanged for a free flight.
Aside from bonuses, many credit card providers offer card insurance, to protect holders against fraud or repayment difficulties. Most major card providers offer schemes for a relatively small fee, such as 10 GBP per month. However it is important to read all the terms and conditions of such schemes as many circumstances are excluded from coverage, such as particular medical conditions or the conditions leading to unemployment.
